Bingo Print Pack

Short answers on the cards. Full definitions for the caller.

For a vocabulary review, the student needs a recognizable answer in a square. The teacher needs the complete definition to read aloud. Keep those two jobs separate, using one checked list to generate both files.

This worked example uses our original 35 science answers and clues. You can inspect the text and download the finished files before making your own lesson.

What goes on each page?

Each input line has an answer on the left and the clue to read aloud on the right, separated by one | character.

Example 1: Atom

Atom | The smallest unit of an element that retains its chemical identity.

Example 2: Photosynthesis

Photosynthesis | Plants use light energy to turn carbon dioxide and water into sugars.

The student square contains the answer, Photosynthesis. The caller sheet keeps the full sentence about light energy, carbon dioxide, water and sugars. You do not need to squeeze that sentence into the student square or make a second list for the teacher.

These are example definitions, not an automatically verified lesson. Review their wording and suitability for your class before use.

A complete caller sheet does not mean every answer is on every card

The example pool has 35 answer–clue pairs. Each student card is a 5 × 5 grid containing 24 different answers and a FREE center. Its answers are a subset of the pool; a particular card does not contain all 35.

The caller sheet includes all 35 pairs, including answers absent from the first student card. Check the complete list rather than using a single student's card as your calling list. A student may have no matching square for a particular clue.

The ten example cards have different layouts. Different layouts can still win together; the tool does not guarantee a single winner or provide online play.

Inspect the finished A4 or Letter example

Each ZIP contains student-cards.pdf, caller-sheet.pdf and README.txt. The examples use ten cards, one per page, and the set code science-35. Student cards and the caller sheet are separate PDFs, so you can choose how many copies of each to print.

Choose the file for your paper size and print at 100% scale. Inspect a test sheet before printing a class set. The PDFs have been generated and checked as files; physical paper and printer results have not been tested.

Make the same pair of documents for your lesson

  1. Prepare the answer pool. Use 24–100 unique answers. Put one answer | clue pair on each line. The science text is a starting format, not a requirement to teach these topics.
  2. Open the bingo pack editor. Replace the loaded science list with your own checked pairs, or keep it to inspect the example. Add a short lesson title.
  3. Choose the paper and card count. For the free pack, select A4 or US Letter, up to ten cards and one card per page. Keep the same list, set code and settings to rebuild the same layouts.
  4. Preview before downloading. Check the first card and every answer–clue pair in the caller preview. If text cannot fit at the supported 12pt size, shorten the answer or use one card per page. The tool blocks the export rather than silently cutting off text.
  5. Download and unzip the pack. Open both PDFs. Confirm that the caller sheet includes every intended pair, choose the copies you need and print a test sheet.

If you omit a clue, the caller sheet uses the answer itself as the text to read. For a definition-based activity, supply a clue for every answer. Answers can contain up to 60 characters and clues up to 240; those are input limits, not a promise that every long answer fits every layout.

A short check before class

The free pack includes up to ten student cards and a complete caller sheet. Optional Print Pack Plus costs $7 USD plus applicable tax for 90 days of expanded exports, with no automatic renewal. It adds up to 100 cards, two cards per page, caller slips, answer–clue CSV and source JSON. Buying access does not restore unsaved lesson text.
